TRACK 1 – Creating the Optimum Drying Environment in Different Climate Conditions - Alex Lozecki, Larry Carlson, Mickey Lee, Barry Costa, Jeremy Reets, Howie Wolf, Darren Hudema and Chuck Dewald III. Join the Restoration Dream Team as they discuss how to create a drying environment that is Optimum for each particular project. This is fairly easy when you have a well-controlled building in a mild climate and can use any of your available LGRs, desiccants or heat-based equipment. But how do you create optimum drying conditions when working in a more severe climate, such as hot-dry (Phoenix), hot-humid (New Orleans) or very cold climate (Minnesota)? Restores should understand that all equipment technologies (i.e. refrigerant, desiccant, heat) have various “sweet-spots” in which they operate most efficiently. This class will discuss how to integrate the different technologies to achieve optimum conditions in different climates and building conditions. You will understand when and why it may be beneficial to pre-cool a desiccant unit, or when you may need to pre-heat a refrigerant unit or post-heat a desiccant unit. This class will be followed up by actual demonstrations in the Exhibit Hall on how to accomplish this and how to estimate what the performance would be.  This session will be followed up in the exhibit hall with live demonstrations at the Experience Flood House.
